The Best Things in Life
Get the niveau filter section of our famous mpressor plugin – it’s free! Add punch to muffled snares, reduce the harshness from active pickups, create some wonderful Dub and LoFi sounds… there are so many ways to benefit from this little tool. It’s fast, efficient, and most important: It sounds great!
This filter is a specialist in changing the overall sonic character of a signal with ease. It features two comprehensive controllers and is capable of producing great results in no time at all. Whenever a classic shelving filter would be too limited and a fully parametric would be too much, the niveau filter is the perfect tool.
The niveau filter and its software emulation have their origin in our creative compressor, the mpressor; adding interesting tonal variations after the compression stage. The effect of this filter is unique and powerful, while its operating is really easy:
Just choose the desired center frequency, then turn the gain controller clockwise to cut the low frequencies and boost the treble at the same time. Or, when you turn the controller counter-clockwise, the effect will be just the other way round.
Extreme settings of the gain controller provide further flexibility: While the fully counter-clockwise position will result in a low pass filter, the fully clockwise setting will give you a high pass filter instead.
“This plugin is a simple life saver. If you already tried everything but nothing helped: Try this.”
“I found this really useful for transitions in electronic music, when you don’t really want to cut the low/high with a normal resonant filter… when you only need to push the instrument back or forward a little bit to emphasize the upcoming section.”
“A very simple and powerful little creature. An invaluable tool in the never ending quest to make your home recorded music sound pro.”
The niveau filter plugin is available for MacOS and Windows in 32 and 64 bits. The following formats are supported: AAX DSP, AAX Native, AAX AudioSuite, AU, VST2 and VST3.
