"What can I say? I'm totally thrilled. For all the differences of the two units they are very flexible. That is really a difference compared to usual compressors which, after all, offer one single possibility: more or less, with their specific characteristics always staying on top. The mpressor, however, is a true hammer concerning its flexibility and uncompromising sound. A pure drumkit, no plugins or EQs, only the mpressor in the subgroup: infinite punch! Of course the alpha is much more elegant in its compression characteristics. It adapts to any material almost imperceptible. Sometimes you do not really feel the compression; it's more something like super fine leveling. You get the feeling that the alpha already knows the music and what to do with it. Especially in the combination on subgroups which I often use both compressors are the perfect match."

"The mpressor has been used on almost all our sessions since we've had it. I really like it and so does Ray. All of the recent Kinks Live remixes we have been doing have had a bit of mpressor action on the drums. I especially like the GR limit button which can be used to tighten the bottom end of sounds. I.e. if you set the mpressor to be really pumpy on a drum sub group, then dial in the GR limit, the kick and the bottom end of the sub group tightens and in some case extends, almost like a harmonic generator, in a very subtle way. When used in more gentle ways, like on a vocal sub group, it brings out the air and room ambiance in the vocals without adding harshness or sibilance. I think it's an amazing bit of kit!"

"A very well made mix compressor, either gentle or extreme, the swiss-army-knife of ‘de-compression’. If we had to keep only one dynamic tool it would be the mpressor for its versatility and true efficiency. And you get the great design and a new vision of compression/leveling on top of it!"

"I haven't got the chance to fully run the mpressor through its paces, but it has already saved me on a mix once. The recording, comprising of a string quartet, an organ and the counter-tenor Gérard Lesne had been done in a church. The singer was too far from the orchestra and his mic had picked up too much ambience. It was then impossible to give presence to the vocals. By multing the vocal track to the mpressor set for some hard compression that I fine-tuned with the GR Limiter (great feature), and mixing the 2 channels, I got the presence back on the voice and saved the mix. I’m sure no other compressor would have made it possible. The mpressor has a very nice tone. I also use it for my analog transfers (Nagra 4S), with just a tiny bit of gain reduction to get the best out of my AD converters."

"At the HI-END GEAR in Cologne I met Dominik and Ruben at their booth. Shortly after Ruben gave me a demo of the mpressor I knew that this was what I wanted. The mpressor I mean - not Ruben ;-) Die compressor is really the very best of German engineering art. It compresses without artifacts, even when extreme settings are used. On the drum buss, it makes the drums tight and punchy and brings the room forward in a quality I had never heard before. The use of the Auto Fast function makes it easy to control fast transients of the snare. My first choice for drum compression and sound shaping."

"Almost every wall in my studio is gear.... lots of compressor choices, modular synth racks, pultec, ADL670... you know, all the best stuff. And I love the mpressor! I even put it in a place of dignity: right in the middle of many compressors long considered "classics." The mpressor now lives in that rack, because to me, it is an instant classic! It is absolutely incredible. I am mixing a very heavy record right now, and the mpressor is working HARD on a parallel drum bus... Incredible piece of machinery you have made."

"With the huge collection I own and use everyday, it's hard to be impressed by a new compressor. The mpressor redefines the meaning of compression. It looks at it from a different angle and basically throws the whole traditional concept on it's head. I may not be a rocket scientist but I'm not a moron either, yet it took me three attempts at being explained how the unit worked before the light bulb went on. It's not because of its complexity but because I've never thought about compression this way. The result of how a drum room can be manipulated to create new rhythms, or a piano can shimmer, or how much faster it is than anything else including plugins, is on another level and cannot not be duplicated with any of my other compressors. So it deserves space in one of my racks. Unfortunately, this was not good news for one of my other compressors that thought life was secure in Soundtowers."

"What can I say... besides wow!? From the moment I took it out of the box I was impressed. With the build quality, sound quality, and it's unique features, the mpressor opened a whole new horizon for me in sound shaping as well as normal leveling control. It can go from very transparent and subtle to very influential and obvious. Amazing."

"The mpressor is a fantastic box for anyone interested in creative compression. It is a truly modern sounding compressor, it does not try and replicate an old design but strives for a new way. It especially shines with the synthetic and electronic sounds of today. I love it!"
